Solution for failed Nokia N900 catalogues.

If you are trying to get into the repository catalogs but can’t, it is because there is a known problem. I only found out today much to my frustration. I should have just visited the good folk at talk.maemo.org since they already had a temporary solution in place. In case you have not visited them yet, check out the thread titled [FOR DUMMIES] Add temporary mirrors of repo.maemo.org to N900 by thedead1440. It explains how to get around the problem and offers a whole bunch of mirror sites to the various repository catalogues. Step away from the N900!

My wife says I am obsessive! She is of course referring to me and my new friend/toy the Nokia N900, which arrived two days ago after a slight delay. You can read all about that in the previous post. Since then I have managed to run the device dry 4 times and when I say “run the device dry”, I mean use it “non stop” for 5 or so hours until the battery is dead. So I guess that is what she means by “obsessive”.
