Taking a portrait screenshot can be tricky.

Taking a screenshot normally means pressing Ctrl+Shift+P together, which is not too bad when one has the phone in the default horizontal mode with the keyboard out. But how many of you have tried taking a portrait screenshot? I was trying out the latest CSSU Maemo update (PR 1.3.3.7-8), which offers the portrait task manager with background image. 9 Military Aircraft Desktops for my Nokia N900.

Here are my latest desktops for my Nokia N900. I currently have 9 desktops active, although I am only using 6 of them. The rest are for eye candy. I have chosen a military aircraft theme because of the air strikes that are currently taking place over Libya. The military have such awesome flying machines and these photos compliment the the desktop of the N900. Isn’t it a shame the Android or iPhone cannot display multiple backgrounds?

One of the most awesome things about my Nokia N900 is the fact that I can have multiple desktops (up to 7 in this example) and have an unique background for each desktop. There are not many smartphones on the market today that can offer this feature. By default the N900 comes with four desktops that can each be customized to ones liking. Install an application such as MaeModder and suddenly 9 desktops are possible each with their own backgrounds.

Three great apps for the N900.

Active Desktop Statusbar Icon by Nicolai: This tiny app can be found in the Application Manager under Desktop. It sits in the status bar area near or next to your wifi signal icon and does one job brilliantly. It tells you which desktop you are looking at, so that you know which way to swipe depending on the number of desktops you have. I currently have 6 active desktops so my 1st desktop would be quickly reached if I swiped right.
